Camp Burned Down
Well as most of you have heard
our camp was burned on Oct.12,2000 The camp was there for 25
years and now its gone. We dont know who done it but we all know
that everyone was welcome at our camp and anyone that knew us
could not have done such a thing.
That day my son Capt.Danny Brown took 3 people out for a tour and saw 2 Airboats in the area, one was yellow colored and the other was possibly blue, we can't prove they had anything to with burning it. But as you know the area is being turned over to the Park, also 2 trucks were seen on US.41 across from the Value Jet Memorial, parked at the same time, one was gray one was white. Everything we had was burned in camp, new TV,tools, clothes, boots. All we have left is our memories of being together with friends and family.
As you know I took my kids out every chance I got and other kids also that was not as lucky as mine just to see the Everglades and try and teach them about nature. Everyone knew that if they broke down or needed something we would be there for them like we have many times before to help.A lot of people want me to build it back and a lot said they would help but is it worth having it destroyed again? To all of you that know us and all of you we know thank you for the memories.
Sincerely Capt.Greg
Brown and Family.
