General membership is open from February through July each year. New members must be sponsored by at least 2 full (non-probationary) members in good standing. Applicants will also have to attend a regularly scheduled board meeting, held on the second Tuesday of each month, in order to appear before the board in its capacity as screening committee. If the screening committee approves the applicant he/she then has to attend the next scheduled regular meeting on the last Thursday of the month. If the applicant is approved by the general membership, there is a $50.00 membership fee and annual dues of $100.00, which must be paid at that meeting.

The new member will serve a one-year probation to determine their eligibility for full membership. During the probationary year, the new member must complete 2 workdays on the club grounds. Scheduled workdays are a social event where a lot of much needed maintenance is done. It is not necessary to come out on scheduled workdays, however, the probationary member can come out and work any time. After the probationary year, the new member’s efforts, proving interest in conservation and in the club, are reviewed by the screening committee who may determine that an additional probationary year is necessary or that the new member should be afforded the rights and privileges of full membership. Nominations for club officers and board members are held during the August and September meetings and elections are held during the October meeting.

Board meetings held on 2nd Tuesday of the month and general meetings held on last Thursday of the month.
