Our annual election of officers and executive board was held at the October general meeting. Elected at this meeting were,

President: Keith Price

Vice President: Bill Miner

Secretary: Charlie Erwin

Treasurer: Mark Kendall

New board members:

Paul Bailey, Mike Frye, Russell Larkins, Will Miner, Donnie Onstad, and Eric Raistric.

They were elected to a term of 2 years. Directors with 1 year remaining are; Jack Cook, John Crouch, Todd Hardwick, Bobby McEwen, Mary McKinney, Rick Sanda, and Bob Washington.

Congratulations to all.

Our club will again this year be involved with the Homestead Rodeo. We will have a booth selling tee shirts, hats, and other things. We will also have boats entered in the rodeo parade. What our main objective here is to raise the level of Club involvement in the community, as well as to try and raise funds.

The dates of the activities are January 27, 28, and 29, 2012. We need people to man our booth all 3 days. Staging is at 10:00 am for the parade. If you are in the parade you must be in homestead at 9:30 am. Members are asked to wear their Airboat Association T-shirts during the parade, and while booth staffing. As well, we can send people into the stands to sell hats etc.

In the parade we need everyone to bring their kids; they can ride in the boats, bring plenty of candy to throw to the kids on the side of the street. The whole event is about family fun.

The Airboat Association of Florida will be their annual St. Patrick's Day airboat poker run Saturday March 17, 2012. The first boat out will be at 10:00, the last boat out at will be at 12:00. All boats must be back by 2:00

Registration will begin at 9:00am. There will be $5, $10, and $20.00 hands. Winners of each hand split the pot 50/50. The more hands

played, the more you can win. Special hand for a meal ticket $2 with the purchase of a min. $5 hand. At the last stop you will be able to draw two cards to try and better you hand @ $1.00 ea.

The corned beef and cabbage will be served around 3:00pm in the cookhouse.  The cost of the meal will be $10.00 per person.

Any members new or old, who would like to volunteer their services to help with this outing, get in touch with Paul Bailey.

Members and guests, at this year's BBQ we will be celebrating something very special. We will be celebrating the 60^th anniversary of our club. The anniversary was December 2011, but we will be celebrating it at our BBQ April 21^st, 2012.

We invite all "Old Members", "New Members", their families, friends, and guests to come on out and help to celebrate our 60 years of supporting the Everglades and the "Gladesman Culture."

There will be a DJ, raffles, kid's games, a bounce house, and many other different events.

The food will be served from 12:00 to 4:00. Meals will be $15.00 each for adults. Kid's meals are $7.00. Hot dogs will be available for $2.00. Sodas and water will be available for sale.

We need all the help we can get. More information will be coming in future newsletters.

The annual Wild Hog BBQ at the Everglades Conservation and Sportsman's club will be held February 11, 2012. It is a fun day for the whole family, so go on out and support them. You won't be sorry.

The Broward County Airboat Association will hold their annual airboat and buggy show with numerous classes for both airboats and buggies. Continuous live entertainment and activities for all age groups. Drawings for the raffles will be held hourly. This will be the largest concentration of airboat venders in one place ever. If you have an airboat question the answer will be here. It will be held in March 10^th and 11th at The Bergeron Rodeo Grounds, Davie , FL. For more information go to: www.browardairboatclub.com

Our annual Fish Fry held last September was a tremendous success. The meals were delicious. We would like to give a "Big Thanks" to Gunky and all of the rest of the "Keys Boys" and all of their crew who helped make this happen.

We will be having workdays January 21^st, February 11, and April 14th to get the Club's Grounds ready for the different outings we have coming up. Remember, the more people that show up to work, the less everyone has to work.

New members, this is a perfect time to put in your workdays.

Lunch will be served when the work is done around 1:00.
